After being cooped up in the house all week I decided we needed a little Christmas fun, so we decorated gingerbread houses. Remember me telling the story about the sweet lady that emailed asking me if she could buy gingerbread houses for the girls? Well she didn't forget anything..she even provided a tablecloth, napkins, plates and tons of candy! Oh but the best part was that all three houses were pre-assembled--can I get an amen! THANK YOU VIVIAN!
Madison had a great time as you can see. She was in no hurry & sat at the table for an hour and 20 minutes working on her house or as she calls it... her sandcastle:) I bet I told her 20 times that it was a gingerbread house but she still kept calling it a sandcastle.
McKinley wasn't as careful with hers because a friend from down the street came over & she wanted to go play:)
Morgan, of course had to make a 1 direction gingerbread house! I love that even though she is almost 13 she still enjoys doing things like this!
This was a nice little break from all the sickness. I'm looking forward to next week when I can actually leave the house:)
Happy Saturday!
Melissa
Welcome to the thoughts I am thinking, the memories I am making, and the lessons I am learning along the way.

THE "NORM" AROUND HERE...
Well now Morgan has joined the ranks around here..she has the FLU! It is NOT pretty at the Whitten house this week.
Yet, another day of hanging around the house in our pj's. poor Madison has been cooped up in this house since Tuesday when I got sick. I am starting to feel better but poor Morgan is miserable right now:)
David has had to pick up alot of slack this week around the house which has put him behind at work, so please pray that he will not get sick. He has to preform a wedding this weekend, has a deacon's meeting, he is teaching a 2hr FFC 101 class not to mention he has to preach 4 messages on Sunday! This is a very busy weekend for him. He never complains...just does what needs to be done. I thank the Lord for my husband this week!
I am just glad we are getting all the sickness out of the way before Christmas gets here. I am looking forward to taking Madison to look at Christmas lights, I have a feeling she is going to LOVE them.
Blessings-

It's been a pajama kind of day:~)
Well it looks like I now have the flu that McKinley had this past weekend:(So Madison & I have just laid around in our pj's all day.
We haven't combed our hair or anything! I didn't even put a bow in her hair today ( so you know i must really be sick!)
Praying that I feel better by tomorrow.
Happy Wednesday!

She sat fairly still & did really well! Look at that smile, melts me heart!

If you ever doubt God's in the small stuff..
Sometimes in my life when God meets a need I seem surprised or shocked even, when I know very well that the impossible IS POSSIBLE with Him. I tend to think that He only cares about the big things like health, relationships, finances etc But He cares about the small things to. And today God reminded me of that...
Every year we decorate a gingerbread house with the girls. Well of course this year I am more excited than normal to do this because I'm sure Madison has never seen a Gingerbread house. This year I wanted to get three of them so each girl could decorate their own ( sorry more work for you David:)Anyway, I have seen them several times in the last week or two & I have even put them in my shopping cart once but put them back because I thought "maybe I shouldn't spend $ on this" or " David will be so annoyed if I buy 3 houses for him to put together" so for whatever reason I just never bought them.
Today I wake up to an email from a sweet lady at our church and the emails says " Melissa, I would like to get Gingerbread houses & all the fixing for your girls to decorate" Say what??? Now this lady had no clue that I had been wanting to get houses for the girls to decorate.I was so taken back by this email & very blessed by at too! In that moment God reminded me that He doesn't just care about the big stuff He cares about the small stuff too!
Madison had her Dr appointment today with a Hematologist and it went well. She has to do some more blood work & we go back in a month to find out the results. Thank you all for your prayers. When the nurse went to take her blood pressure the "kid" one was still to big for Madison's little arm so it took her 10 minutes to find a smaller pressure cuff that would work:) But as always she was a tropper!
You can't really tell by this picture but her arms & legs are so small. I love my little peanut.
Hope ya'll have a blessed day-

This & That
McKinley has been sick since yesterday. She got better last night but woke up with another fever & headache. So we went to the DR. and she has the FLU :( She has a dose of medicine in her system now so she is feeling better already.
This morning McKinley was playing in her room & when I went in to check on her this is what I saw.
Those are all of our family albums that I have made the last 3 or 4 years. She looks through them all the time & asks " where's Madison"If just makes my heart hurt to think that we have missed out on the first 4 years of her life.
It almost feels like she has been with us all along so maybe it feels that same way to her & she wonders why she is not in any of our books. But we can't live in the past but I am just thankful she is home where she belongs.
