New York Part 2

I was saying that Central Park was one of my favorite things we did while in N.Y. But my amazing hubby also got us tickets to go see Kelly and Michael so meeting Kelly Rippa was also pretty high up on my list too:)

After we left Kelly and Michael show we headed to another one of my " Bucket list" things which was Serendipity to have a frozen hot chocolate.

And let me tell you...10 years of waiting and it was worth the wait.

Here are some other random pictures :

Had rice pudding for the first time ever, was pretty good.

And there was the subway, not gonna lie, I didn't care much for it but it was a cheap way to get around:) This was my mood while on it the 2 times we rode it.

I better get productive and step away from my computer so I will post about our final day in N.Y. tomorrow.

The BIG APPLE!

So I hit the big 40 back in September and for the last 10yrs I have been wanting to gob to New York. So for my big birthday David got me a trip!!! Best Birthday ever!!!! I told him I will just sit around in mourning for the rest of my birthdays because he couldn't possibly top this one:)

If you hate other people's vacation photos then back out RIGHT NOW!

We left at 5:30 AM to head to the airport and yes, we were those dorks who took a selfie before we left.

Our hotel
was amazing and the view from our room....I cant even!!!

Time square.... That is what we got to see from our room every day! Oh and at night it was just so amazing to look at.

We walked about 8 miles each day and it's a good thing we did because we ate well if you know what I'm saying.

One night we ended up at Bar America which is one of Bobby Flays restaurants and he was there.. I turn around and he was talking to the people at the table next to us, so cool. I got the shrimp & Grits and it was delicious.
David got the Rabbit... But it was actually pretty good.

I have had several people ask me what my favorite thing was, that is a tough question but taking a carriage ride through Central park was at the top.

I loved loved loved Central Park! It was just beautiful.
I am going to stop here and will share more about our time in NY tomorrow.

Blessings,
Melissa

Spring Break

Well at this point I am SO far behind in blogging that I am not sure I can even catch up:).

So I will start with Spring Break 2016. Morgan went with some other youth from church on a mission trip to Haiti. This was kind of a last minute decision that Morgan made BUT I am so glad she listened to the Lord prompting her to go. She had an amazing time and already wants to go back. They did bible studies each day with the Haitian youth and her favorite part was hanging with all the kids.

And while she was in Haiti we dropped the other two off in Alabama with my parents so that David and I could get away for some much needed alone time. This was my Birthday present that David got me back in September for my 40th! It was amazing and I will take those memories with me for as long as I live. I'll write about that trip tomorrow.

Happy Saturday!

Christmas part 3

Our third and final Christmas was with my family on Dec 30th, Christmas lasts a full week for us:)

Anytime I get to spend time with my sister, Amanda its a good time.

We had our family dinner and then gifts, just like we did at David's side.

And after dinner and gifts we had to play Pie in the face.

Another year has come and gone! I cannot believe we have lived in Florida for 14 years now. I feel like time is just zooming by these days.

Praying for a great 2016.

Christmas part 2

We left the day after Christmas to head to Alabama to have Christmas with both sides of our family.
We went to David's side first.

Morgan is very good in the kitchen so my Mother in law puts her to work each year:)

And the fruits of her labor......

They were very yummy!

I'm taking the pic so that's why I'm not in my chair:)

Then after dinner it was gift time !

We had a great time at my In-laws and after a few days there we left for my side of the family.

That's coming up tomorrow :)

Happy Monday!

Another Christmas in the books!

Wow, I can't believe another Christmas has come and gone.

The Whitten girls are all happy and getting along for the moment, But I am sure that will change once we get on the road for or 9 hour trip:(

McKinley had a change of clothes in the middle of all her action..note to self: 2 of  my 3 girls do not like Onesies!

Christmas day was a success! And our Christmas Eve services at church was a great success too.
It's not very often we all get to worship together since we have 4 services each week so it is always a great thing when we can all fit into one big high school stadium.

Believe it or not I completely forgot to take a family photo all Christmas eve and Christmas day.

My hope is that you all had a great Christmas and took time to celebrate  Jesus, who is the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. Without His birth and death we would have no hope or future.
THANK YOU JESUS!

December Catch up

Well, I just can't seem to keep this blog up on a consistent basis...sorry.
So below are a few of the things that have been going on this month in our family.

McKinley and Madison both had Christmas performances at school.

And Madison had a singing part in hers....

Can you tell that girl LOVES a microphone:)

Then that same week they both had Christmas parties and McKinley's 4th grade class went to a nursing home and sang.

They made cards and handed them out too.

This same week McKinley had ANOTHER school Christmas program..Are you getting how tired I am at this point?

And now onto the week before Christmas. The girls are officially on Christmas break, woohoo!

Morgan got matching pj's too but for some reason didn't want to join in on all the fun:(

Monday we went with some friends to a town called Celebration, Fl to look at Christmas lights and we all had a great time. The kids got to ice skate and we all got to take a carriage ride through the town. If only It hadn't been 88 degrees out it would have been perfect.

So that's a wrap for the first few weeks in December. Christmas recap will come in a few days..or maybe months:)

Getting ready now to have our Chritsmas Eve service at the Newsome high school stadium. Looking forward to worshipping with our whole church family all at the same time.

Merry Christmas!
